Daily Detective privacy policy
The short version
Daily Detective saves your detective record — cases solved, points, streak, rank, badges, and the beat you chose — so it is there when you come back tomorrow. It stores nothing else about you. No name, no location, no ads, nothing sold, ever.
What the skill stores
Your record is kept in the skill’s Alexa-hosted storage under a one-way cryptographic hash of your Alexa user ID — the raw ID is never stored. The record holds only game state: streak and the dates of your daily solves, whether your monthly grace day has been used, total cases solved and played, perfect solves, points, the IDs of the cases you solved, badges earned, your chosen beat (investigator path) and whether a path choice is due, which daily case was pinned for you today, the cold cases you have closed and the date you last completed one, and two housekeeping counters (which greeting and farewell you last heard, and whether a one-time rating suggestion has been made). That is the whole list.
What the skill does not collect
The skill does not ask for, receive, or store your name, email, address, location, contacts, or payment details. It uses no account linking and requests no device permissions.
Your voice and Amazon Alexa
Your voice requests are processed by Amazon Alexa under Amazon’s own privacy terms. Daily Detective receives only the intent and answer words Alexa recognized (for example, a place or a suspect’s name), never audio recordings.
Sharing
Nothing in your record is shared with anyone. There are no other players in your record — every detective’s file is theirs alone.
Retention and deletion
Your record is kept so your streak and rank survive between visits. To have it deleted, contact us at privacy@earshotworlds.com and we will remove the record tied to your hashed ID.
Ads and purchases
Daily Detective contains no advertising and no in-skill purchases.
Children
Daily Detective is not directed at children.
